Celebrating Excellence: The 4th International Pizza Championship Supported by the International Culinary Union

The 4th International Pizza Championship, held from November 6th to 8th, 2019, at the Inter Expo Center in Sofia, Bulgaria, was a resounding success, supported by the International Culinary Union (ICU). Organized by the Bulgarian Association Pizzaioli, this prestigious event brought together over 50 competitors from more than 10 countries, showcasing their pizza-making prowess in a bid for international acclaim.

The competition was fierce, with participants demonstrating remarkable skill and creativity. Reaching a merit was no easy feat, highlighting the high standards and exceptional talent present at the event.

Adding a touch of artistry to the competition, the ICU's Carving Club participated with a stunning seasonal display crafted from squash, watermelon, and other natural elements. Leading this effort was Mr. Bozhidar Dimitrov, a renowned competitor and Silver Star judge, alongside Mrs. Ivelina Zjeleva from Bulgaria, both bringing their carving expertise to the fore.

The event culminated in a celebration of talent and dedication. Special congratulations are in order for all the winners, whose hard work and passion shone brightly. Notably, ICU member and Pizza Chef Andrei Costin from Romania clinched the highest title and took home the grand prize of €200.

The 4th International Pizza Championship not only highlighted the incredible skills of the participants but also underscored the ICU's commitment to supporting and promoting culinary excellence worldwide.
